Today we had a late start but things still turned out ok. We took off out of San Cosme around 11am to head to the fishing grounds. San Cosme is a private estate located about an hour South of Loreto but has proven to be close to some of the best fishing grounds in the world. The water temp has cooled down since tropical storm Bud pushed through last week. We were lucky to find water 80 degrees or warmer. We stopped on about 30 different kelp patties and were able to land 3 nice size dorado. There were a lot of patties with nobody home. The ones that did hold dorado only had 1 or 2 around so I would say overall we had a great day. The fishing in Loreto is really starting to heat up and it is looking like we will finally get the dorado season we have all been waiting for. Fingers crossed.
