Weather and water are still warm in Loreto. There has been a good amount of whale activity in the area, we have seen humpback, pilot, and orcas in the past week. Yesterday there was several whales in the area so fishing was not so great. Today we headed further offshore past Catalan, coming across some floating debris which led to some wide open fishing. There was a sea turtle caught up in the debris so that was the first priority to get the turtle set free. Upon doing that several large dorado were swimming around the boat and did not take long to start hooking up. We began trolling hooking up to more dorado, some small wahoo, and bonita. We saw several marlin in the area and began trolling the bonita and as luck would have it minutes later hooked up to a beautiful blue marlin who put up a great fight. Bottom fishing is still hit and miss, there are a lot of fish in the area but you need a full day on the water to cover some ground trolling offshore.
